Tailoring Software Process Capability/ Maturity Models for the Health Domain

چکیده
Web-based asynchronous store-and-forward telemedicine systems for diagnostic purposes, which enable the consultation of one (or more) distant health care professional(s) by a locally present health care professional concerning a patient‘s diagnosis and treatment can significantly improve healthcare services. Yet, developing high-quality asynchronous store-andforward telemedicine systems (ASFTSs) remains a challenge. However, there is no accepted understanding as to what are the important quality characteristics for this type of software system and/or what defines a mature software process for producing high-quality ASTFSs. Through adopting a multi-step research methodology, we define a quality model for ASFTSs indicating relevant quality characteristics and their priority for this specific type of software system based upon ISO/IEC 25010. We, then, propose an extended software process capability/maturity model based on ISO/IEC 15504 and ISO/IEC 12207 to meet these particular quality requirements. The resulting model can be used to both guide the development and the evaluation of such systems. We expect that the availability of such a customized model will facilitate the development of highquality ASFTSs, reducing related risks and improving the quality of telemedicine services.

Using Security Patterns to Tailor Software Process
Secure software development processes can reduce the quantity of security errors and the vulnerabilities involved in software projects. A secure development process is composed by activities that propose the insertion of security requirements in all software development phases. These activities can be based on standards and/or security models such as SSE-CMM, ISO/IEC 27001, ISO/IEC 15408. The p...

The main objective of this work is analyzing the applicability of CMMi (Capability Maturity Model Integration) in developing a detailed software process for small organizations. The implementation of mature methods is hard, requiring highly trained and experienced people. It is usually complicated to apply evolved software processes in smaller organizations due to their lack of mature cultural ...

CMMI and ISO/IEC 15504 are two main models for software process assessment and improvement. Both models have staged and continuous representations but these are different. Continuous representations of the models propose the different sets of processes (process areas). The differences of staged representations are even more essential. CMMI staged representation is based on the ideas of a classi...

This paper presents a novel application involving two important Software Engineering research areas: process modeling and software reuse. The Spiral Model is a risk-driven process model, which, depending on the specific risks associated with a given project, may be tailored to create a project-specific process model. The software reuse area is that of domain modeling of families of systems, whi...
